IVS is looking to recruit a keen and enthusiastic Electrical Design Engineer who can work effectively as part of an experienced engineering team. The role will utilise AutoCAD Electrical to design panels and electrical schematics for small retro-fit camera systems through to large industrial automation machinery.

Key Responsibilities

Required Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

Essential
·        Minimum of 2+ years of industry experience.
·        Minimum of 2+ years of experience using AutoCAD Electrical or similar package.

·        Well organised, ability to work to deadlines and high attention to detail.
·        Excellent interpersonal skills - both written and verbal.
·        Ability and willingness to work as part of a team.

Desirable
·        Understanding of electrical control gear and industrial automation.

THE ROLE 
IVS is looking for a keen and enthusiastic Design Manger to lead an experienced Design Team, ensuring delivery of innovative and high-quality automation solutions. The role requires the ability to realise complex bespoke automation solutions from high-level concepts, overseeing the design process including cross-functional management of both mechanical and electrical design engineers. The Design Manager will report directly to the Sales and Marketing Director and support the execution of the design strategy. 

Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership and Management
·        Lead, mentor and manage a team of mechanical and electrical design engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation and excellence. 
·        Provide guidance and support to team members, helping them develop their skills and advance their careers. 
·        Conduct regular performance reviews and provide constructive feedback. 
 
Design Process Management
·        Oversee the entire design process, developing sales concepts into detailed solutions.
·        Ensure that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. 
·        Develop and implement processes and best practices to improve efficiency. 
·        Control electrical, mechanical, automation and pneumatic projects budgets.
·        Plan, priorities and manage multiple design projects simultaneously. Monitor project design progress and provide regular updates to the Project Managers.  
 
Cross-Functional Collaboration
·        Work closely with the Applications Manager and project managers to ensure solutions meet the required specifications.
·        Work closely with the Sales and Marketing Director to align design initiatives with strategic goals.  

Design Leadership
·        Responsible for the design of safe systems in accordance with all applicable Standards, Regulations and Directives. 
·        Ensure all systems are safe and risk assessed comprehensively to latest regulatory requirements.
·        Address and resolve technical issues promptly and efficiently. 
·        Responsible for the specification of automation equipment.
·        Conduct regular design reviews to maximise the quality and consistency of designs.
·        Be involved in the recruitment process of new employees.

Required Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

Essential Requirements
·        Minimum of 7+ years of relevant engineering industry experience, with at least 3 years in a managerial role. 
·        Educated to degree level preferably in an Engineering discipline or related fields (2.1 or above).
·        In depth understanding of bespoke machine building and automation.
·        Strong leadership and team management skills. 
·        A logical approach to problem solving with excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
·        Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
·        Ability and willingness to work as part of a team.
·        Driving licence.
 
Desirable Requirements
·        Experience using SolidWorks
·        Experience using AutoCad Electrical
·        Knowledge of machine vision.

THE POST
IVS is looking to recruit a keen and enthusiastic Controls & Electrical Design Engineer who can work effectively as part of an experienced engineering team. The role will utilise AutoCAD Electrical to design panels and electrical schematics for small retro-fit camera systems through to large industrial automation machinery.

Key Responsibilities

·         Design and specify control systems, safety and electrical components for industrial automation systems.
·         Create electrical schematics and designs within AutoCAD Electrical including layout diagrams, and terminal & wiring plans to EU Standards. 
·         Create technical specifications, process flow diagrams and plan control system programming architecture.
·         Work with the Design and Applications Engineering engineers to provide drawings, specifications and deliver projects on time.
·         PLC and controls programming of industrial automation systems.
·         Co-ordinate suppliers as part of overall project control.
·         Help as required for the electrical fitting, wiring of panels and assembly of machine builds.
·         Carry out electrical testing procedures on new machine builds.
·         Supporting electrical problem-solving during the manufacturing build process.
·         Integrate and Commission new systems in support of IVS Engineers at customer sites within the UK and overseas.
·         Maintain, develop and support existing control systems at customer sites within the UK and overseas.

Required Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

Essential
